I often get the question of exactly how I decided to become a chiropractor. It's an interesting story of moving at just the right time and having several in-depth conversations with a now fellow colleague. I visited a local clinic that he knew and that was all it took. I knew from the minute I walked into the office that it felt different than any Doctor's office I had ever been in. He had inspiring quotes, testimonials, and education everywhere. I heard stories all day and after receiving my first adjustment knew it worked as I always struggled with migraines and this day was one of them. Right after my adjustment, it started going away and he explained it was because of a misalignment in my spine causing a miscommunication in my nervous system. As I did more and more research I found that it was the perfect blend for me as I love working with both my hands and my head problem-solving. The rest is history, I have now been practicing for over 12 years and still get excited seeing the miracles of health transformations.
As a chiropractor, I treat patients of all ages, including children, adults, and seniors. We love the opportunity to help anyone who is in need. We see patients weekly who have been searching for answers and struggling with health issues for years. We wish often that these people would've found a chiropractor sooner. Many times people go through unnecessary tests, procedures, and surgeries trying to chase symptoms. No matter your age we appreciate the opportunity to help you.
The number of visits needed initially varies depending on the condition being treated and the individual needs of the patient. Some patients may start seeing results after just one visit, while the root issues still need more attention. It is our job to give you the very BEST recommendations so you can achieve your health goals and live a better quality of life. We are results driven and do testing along with way to make sure you are on track.
During your first visit, we will discuss your medical history and any current symptoms or concerns you may have. We will also perform a physical exam and may perform diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, if necessary. These are necessary to ensure we give you the best recommendations and don't miss anything that would hinder your progress. If you are not a good fit for care in our office we will kindly help to point you in the right direction.
Chiropractic care falls into the alternative medicine world that focuses on diagnosing and treating mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system without the use of medication or surgery. Most assume we only care about the spine and addressing pain. What is really amazing about Chiropractic is that the primary focus is not on the spine but on the Nervous System that the spine protects. Enhanced nerve function is one of my favorite and the most powerful benefits of chiropractic. When you improve the function of the nervous system every other part of your body benefits. It is how the master controller the Brain is able to communicate.
Here are some of the other many benefits associated with chiropractic care I have heard over the years:
Pain relief: Chiropractic adjustments, which involve adjustments of the spine and other joints, are often used to alleviate acute or chronic pain. Conditions such as back pain, joint pain, sciatica, neck pain, osteoarthritis, and headaches are among the few commonly treated with chiropractic care.
Improved mobility: Chiropractic adjustments aim to restore proper alignment and function of the musculoskeletal system. This can lead to improved joint mobility and flexibility, which may benefit individuals with restricted movement.
Reduced reliance on medication: Some individuals seek chiropractic care as an alternative to prescription medications or surgery for pain management. By addressing the underlying mechanical issues, chiropractic care may reduce the need for painkillers or other drugs.
Enhanced overall well-being: Chiropractors often emphasize the importance of a healthy lifestyle and provide advice on nutrition, exercise, and ergonomics. This holistic approach to health can contribute to improved overall well-being.
Better posture: Chiropractic adjustments can help correct postural problems, which may result from misalignments in the spine or other joints. Improved posture can reduce the risk of musculoskeletal pain, degeneration, and injury.
Prevention of future injuries: Stop being reactive when it comes to your health. Regular chiropractic care may help individuals maintain optimal spinal health and prevent future injuries or pain. This proactive approach to health and wellness is just one reason why some people choose to see a chiropractor regularly.
